How can I determine what is the best projector for my needs?  There are several important factors that you should consider when determining which projector is right for you.

Input Device (Computer/VCR/Satellite)  - Certain types of computers/workstations provide special video output ports, if you are using a Personal computer, all of the LCD projectors listed above support the standard 9 pin configuration.  Check to see if the video output for your computer is listed in the table above.  If you are unfamiliar with the various kinds of video outputs, a quick reference can be found here

Presentation Screen - The screen that you have will change the way in which you are able to see the projected image.  A really good explanation of the impacts of the screen on your presentation,  including the amount of light being reflected to your audience, can be found here

Presentation Content - If you are attempting to display presentations slide shows on the projector, then all the LCD projectors listed above should provide sufficient resolution for the display of your presentation.  However, if you are attempting to display movies, 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Computer Simulation models, higher resolution projectors should be considered

Throw Space - The distance between the projector and the screen can become critical when you try to match the projector to the room, most projectors can vary (to an extent) the amount

Resolution-  The native resolution of the projector is

Room Ambient lighting If the room that you are presenting in is bright, or if you are presenting outdoors, the projector you are using should have a relatively high

Display Size - The size of the display screen can become critical in the selection of the projector for several reasons.  The low projection resolution shown on a large screen can result in large pixel size, and reduce the clarity of the picture.  A projector that requires a short distance to create a large display

Weight - The weight of the projector is not usually a consideration unless you do a significant amount of traveling.  There are several projectors available that are targeted for the travel purposes.  These typically range in the 3-4 pound range.

Size - Just as with the weight of the projector, the size is not usually critical unless you do a significant amount of traveling.
